Tanner had his second birthday last week and we had a lot of fun. We had a party with the grandparents and they spoiled him. He got some cute clothes, books, and a sit-and-spin toy.

This is a picture of Tanner waiting for the party to begin. We're having real issues with his pictures right now. Every single one of them he either has his fingers in his mouth or his nose. Ever since we took his binky away he has to have his fingers in his mouth. It doesn't make for very good pictures, not to mention the fact that it's not very sanitary.

So this is Tanner sitting in his chair wearing his new, warm hat. Once again, those darn fingers are in his mouth!

This is his new fire engine. It's really cool. It has lights that turn on, sirens that sound, and the ladder moves up and down and around. He loves it and so does Keegan! At the beginning, we had to keep reminding Keegan that it was Tanner's toy and he wanted to play with it, too. It's still the favorite toy in the house right now but they're doing much better at sharing.

We kind of had a fire truck theme going with the decorations and his fire truck present. This is the cake that my sister decorated for Tanner. I thought it turned out so cute and it was yummy to eat.

This is Tanner getting ready to blow out his two candles. Because he had a cold on his birthday, we opted to put his candles in a piece of banana bread so he wouldn't cough on his cake. It took him a while to to blow his candles out but he finally did it. After he blew the first one out and realized how fun it was he had no problems blowing out the second one.

This is a picture of our handsome little boy in the new outfit he got for church. He decided to hold a birthday balloon and I figured that was better than having his hand in his mouth. Now, if we could just get him to smile! :)
He is so fun right now and we are just enjoying him so much. He's talking up a storm and learning new words every day. He is obsessed with garbage trucks and garbage men. Thursdays are his favorite day of the week because that's when our garbage man comes. It's the best part of our day! The other day we were eating lunch when we heard the "beep, beep, beep" as the garbage truck was reversing into our cul-de-sac. I had to get him out of his high chair and he RAN to the front window and just watched. Then, when the garbage truck was leaving he said, "Bye-bye gaba kruck. Bye-bye."
This has been a very eventful year for him. He learned how to walk, learned how to talk, mastered the art of eating with utensils, learned to sleep through the night, became a big brother and learned to live without a binky. He is such a cute kid and he is a joy to have around. As Keegan would say, "Happy Birthday Two-Year Old!"
