4 Months Old

Maggie had her 4 month birthday a couple days ago. My, how time is flying! She is so much fun and her cute personality is really coming out. Some of the pictures are a little blurry because she never stops wiggling but we hope you enjoy them.

A cute naked picture. Her rolls are getting bigger and we just love how chubby she's getting. There's nothing better for a mother than to have her baby gaining weight. It helps me to remember that at least I'm doing one thing right as a mother.

Up close and personal with the thighs. We just love her chubby legs and they are very ticklish. Greg has actually had two real laughs while he was tickling her thighs. I haven't had a real laugh yet but we're getting close.
And one of my most favorite features of Maggie is........

her bald spot! It's so funny because it's a perfectly straight line right across the back of her head. It looks ridiculous but I keep reminding myself that at least she has a head of hair to have a bald spot on. :)

Tanner wanted to be in some of the pictures too. I love they way they're looking at each other.
I can just imagine Maggie thinking, "Hey, who let you get on this chair? This is my photo shoot."

And now they're looking at mommy. I was pulling funny faces at them but couldn't get either of them to smile.

Here's a smiling one! Everyone loves to make Maggie smile. Maggie really loves her brothers and sister and they're guaranteed a smile almost every time they talk to her. She is cooing a lot more now, she's starting to laugh, she smiles all the time, and she loves blowing raspberries. We are enjoying her so much!

Christmastime is here!

These are pictures from the night we decorated our Christmas tree. When Greg worked at Enterprise Rent-a-Car, he found a box of Christmas lighters in one of the returned cars. We put them in one of our Christmas tubs and the kids found them this year. They don't have any lighter fluid in them so they're not dangerous, but when you click the button down it plays Christmas music.
Tanner absolutely loves his little Santa lighter. It probably doesn't look very good to have our kids walking around the house with cigarette lighters, but they absolutely love them. And you can see from Tanner's face that he recently had a candy cane to eat!

And here's the four kidlets in front of the tree. They had such fun decorating it. Tanner had so much fun that he's been taking the ornaments off every day and redecorating it! (Much to his mother's dismay.) I thought he'd be old enough to leave them alone this year but he's not. So most of the ornaments are now located on the upper regions of the Christmas tree - safely out of reach of Tanner's little hands.
P.S. Don't you love Tanner's hat? It's really a Maggie-sized hat but he insists on wearing it. The size of his head compared to the hat just makes it stand straight up. It's quite funny!

Keegan's Art

I just love the artwork that Keegan does at preschool so I thought I'd share. I'm glad his preschool teachers let him do this at school because he sure doesn't get to play with paint at home. Way too messy! This is his Halloween picture with a spider and a pumpkin. We hang all these pictures on the doors in our house and he's very proud of them.

This is his beautiful fall picture. The leaves on the tree are made with his fingerprints. He put his fingers in ink and then stamped his fingerprints all over. So cute!

And here is the Thanksgiving turkey. You can't see it, but Keegan actually glued an eye on the other side of the turkey's head because he has to have two eyes!

Thanksgiving

We had the one of the first big snowstorms a couple days before Thanksgiving. The kids wanted to go out and play in it but by the time Brinley did her homework and we got 3 kids all bundled up, it was almost 4:30 p.m. So it was really cold because the sun was already starting to set. They played out there for about 10 minutes and then decided to come in.

We did get a couple pictures before mommy decided it was way too cold and we all came back in. It was a lot of work for 10 minutes of fun. :)

I am so thrilled with this picture because Keegan is actually smiling his real smile! Usually we get some pretty funny faces from him but this picture is just great. He's wearing his Indian hat he made in preschool.

We had a great Thanksgiving this year. The food and the company were great. Brinley and Keegan enjoyed sitting with their cousins at the "kid" table.

Here's another good picture of Keegan. Wow! Two in a row!

We had our dinner at a church and Tanner found this cute cubby in the kitchen that was just the perfect size for him.

Here's the two boys sitting in their high chairs just waiting for some yummy food. Apparently they were both very hungry and decided to nibble on their hands while they were waiting.

After dinner Tanner got a few birthday presents from his aunts, uncles, and cousins. He got some cute clothes and a little remote control tractor that is very fun.
Overall, just a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend. It was nice for Brinley and Greg to have some days off and just relax. We have so many things to be grateful for this year.
We've all been healthy all year, except for minor things.
Pregnancy and delivery went great.
We have a beautiful little baby girl (who didn't have jaundice bad enough to be hospitalized).
Greg still loves his job and is busy (which is great for job security).
We were able to buy a van when we needed to.
We have a great neighborhood full of wonderful friends.
And we have a wonderful family who have been so supportive, especially when Maggie was born.

3 Months Old!

Maggie officially turned three months old this last week. I love this stage of babyhood. Her personality is coming out more every day and she is just so fun! This post has a lot of pictures but I just couldn't decide which ones to pick.
This is one with Maggie's adorable smile. I love watching her face transform as she smiles. Her eyes literally light up as she recognizes someone and then she just gives this grin that is so genuine.

This is one with her more serious face. She doesn't prefer being on her tummy yet but she looks so cute holding up her head.

Grinning at daddy! She'd had a nap, been fed, and was just thrilled with the attention.

How could you not love this cute little girl!? We are having so much fun with her. The kids still fight over who gets to hold her and Tanner has calmed down a lot. His unexplained outbursts where he would just hit her are becoming a lot less frequent. I guess he's decided that she's really not going to go anywhere so he might as well just be happy that she's here. It's fun watching all of the kids with her. They take really good care of her and help me a lot. She's lucky to have such a wonderful sister and brothers.

We've entered the...Terrific Two's!

Tanner had his second birthday last week and we had a lot of fun. We had a party with the grandparents and they spoiled him. He got some cute clothes, books, and a sit-and-spin toy.
This is a picture of Tanner waiting for the party to begin. We're having real issues with his pictures right now. Every single one of them he either has his fingers in his mouth or his nose. Ever since we took his binky away he has to have his fingers in his mouth. It doesn't make for very good pictures, not to mention the fact that it's not very sanitary. So this is Tanner sitting in his chair wearing his new, warm hat. Once again, those darn fingers are in his mouth!
This is his new fire engine. It's really cool. It has lights that turn on, sirens that sound, and the ladder moves up and down and around. He loves it and so does Keegan! At the beginning, we had to keep reminding Keegan that it was Tanner's toy and he wanted to play with it, too. It's still the favorite toy in the house right now but they're doing much better at sharing.

We kind of had a fire truck theme going with the decorations and his fire truck present. This is the cake that my sister decorated for Tanner. I thought it turned out so cute and it was yummy to eat.

This is Tanner getting ready to blow out his two candles. Because he had a cold on his birthday, we opted to put his candles in a piece of banana bread so he wouldn't cough on his cake. It took him a while to to blow his candles out but he finally did it. After he blew the first one out and realized how fun it was he had no problems blowing out the second one.

This is a picture of our handsome little boy in the new outfit he got for church. He decided to hold a birthday balloon and I figured that was better than having his hand in his mouth. Now, if we could just get him to smile! :)
He is so fun right now and we are just enjoying him so much. He's talking up a storm and learning new words every day. He is obsessed with garbage trucks and garbage men. Thursdays are his favorite day of the week because that's when our garbage man comes. It's the best part of our day! The other day we were eating lunch when we heard the "beep, beep, beep" as the garbage truck was reversing into our cul-de-sac. I had to get him out of his high chair and he RAN to the front window and just watched. Then, when the garbage truck was leaving he said, "Bye-bye gaba kruck. Bye-bye."
This has been a very eventful year for him. He learned how to walk, learned how to talk, mastered the art of eating with utensils, learned to sleep through the night, became a big brother and learned to live without a binky. He is such a cute kid and he is a joy to have around. As Keegan would say, "Happy Birthday Two-Year Old!"

The New and Improved Thanksgiving

So yesterday I picked up Keegan from preschool and we had the funniest little conversation.
Keegan: Mom, next time at preschool we get to have a Thanksgiving feast and I get to be an ALIEN!
Mom: Do you mean INDIAN?
Keegan: Yeah, that's it.
So funny! I think this new story of thanksgiving might be quite interesting. I think I'd like to hear the story of the pilgrims and the aliens!
